The storage concept at storemore is as simple as it gets: you choose the storage unit that fits your needs and sign a rental agreement online or at one of our branches. Then, download our smartphone app to receive your digital access rights, giving you 24/7 access to your storage unit. Lifting and transport trolleys are available free of charge. You can also use a moving van free of charge for 4 hours, including 50 free kilometers*, and purchase additional equipment conveniently at our locations.
As a tenant, you are generally responsible for moving your items in and out yourself. However, our team is happy to support you with everything related to the process: we can help you rent a moving van or arrange a moving company. And of course, when you rent a new storage unit, our storemore van is available to you free of charge for up to 4 hours. Tools and supplies such as packing tape or moving boxes are available on-site at our branches.
We provide various tools free of charge to make moving your items in and out as easy as possible. At the entrance, you’ll find a phone charging station as well as trolleys and hand trucks available for your use (please note that these may occasionally all be in use). A pallet jack is available upon request. On each floor, you’ll also find ladders, brooms, and small waste bins that you can use at any time.
Our storage units include insurance coverage of €1,000 at no additional cost. The coverage amount can be increased to a maximum of €50,000 for an additional fee. Some home insurance policies also cover external storage. Our staff will be happy to help you find the optimal insurance protection for your needs.
Most customers need less space than they initially expect. As a general rule for private users: you’ll need about 12.5% of your living space as storage area. Our digital storage calculator provides a detailed estimate of your actual space requirements – or you can simply get personalized advice from our on-site team.
Quite simply: efficient space usage goes beyond floor area. With our 3-meter-high ceilings, one square meter of storage area equals a storage volume of 3 cubic meters. This allows you to easily stack boxes, furniture, and other items. If needed, you can purchase a heavy-duty shelf on-site to keep an even better overview and protect your stored items from scratches and other damage.
Our unit numbers follow a clear system to make orientation easy: Location – Floor – Aisle – Unit Number. For example, the unit number L3-1-A100 means your box is located at the Leipzig site, on the 1st floor, in aisle A.
Each floor also has a floor plan to help you quickly locate your unit. In addition, aisle signs are mounted on the ceilings in all locations, making it even easier for you to find your way around.
Our storage units are 3 meters high as standard – you can make full use of this height and stack your items accordingly. That’s why we believe in listing prices transparently by cubic meter rather than just by square meter.
Our facilities are equipped with comprehensive lighting throughout. While the units themselves do not have individual light fixtures, the materials and colors in our storage areas have been deliberately chosen to reflect light effectively, keeping the spaces bright overall. If you ever need additional lighting, you can purchase work lights in our on-site shop.
Depending on the location and intended use, it is possible to have a power connection installed in your unit. Our on-site staff will be happy to assist you.
Depending on the size you book, our units are equipped with either single doors (75–100 cm wide) or double doors (150–200 cm wide). Elevators/freight lifts and hallways provide ample space for transporting larger items and maneuvering comfortably.
Thanks to optimal ventilation and heating, we maintain a relatively constant temperature in our facilities throughout both summer and winter, protecting your stored items from damage. There are no short-term temperature fluctuations in our storage units.
A comprehensive security concept is essential to us. In addition to full video surveillance and a fire and alarm system connected to a security service, we verify each tenant’s identity before signing a contract and ensure that every customer has access only to their designated floor.
Yes, there are always elevators or freight lifts on-site, allowing you to easily transport even larger items to your storage unit.
An upgrade or downsizing of your storage unit is usually possible at any time, provided the desired sizes are available.
Yes – we sell shelves on-site at our branches. Unfortunately, shelf rental is not available. Feel free to speak with our shop staff about it!
In principle, the monthly rental price is based on the volume of a unit, measured in cubic meters. Our storage units are 3 meters high, and you can make full use of that height down to the last centimeter. You can view the unit prices for each location under “Book a unit.” If you have any questions about the right unit size or pricing, our staff at the branches will be happy to assist you.
The rental price includes the booked storage space along with all ancillary costs. It also covers storage insurance for damages up to €1,000, standard access security, video surveillance, an intrusion alarm system, and a fire alarm system.
Whether you sign your contract online or on-site, one of our staff members will create a login for you. After downloading the storemore app, you can sign in and automatically receive all the necessary access rights — for example, to roller doors, building entrances, and, of course, your own storage unit.
As soon as you’re near an access point, it will appear on your smartphone and can be opened with a simple tap. Our app is compatible with iOS (version 12 or higher) and Android (version 9 or higher).
Your safety and the security of your belongings are our top priority. Therefore, only you initially have access to your storage unit. If you wish, you can authorize additional people to have access. Our team will be happy to assist you with that.
To sign the contract, you only need your ID card or passport, as well as the first month’s rent, which is due upon signing.
At storemore, you can pay in cash, by debit or credit card, or via PayPal. Subsequent monthly payments are made by direct debit.
For maximum flexibility, we at storemore do not require any notice period. This means that if you decide to cancel your unit, you can move out as early as the following day. Billing is, of course, calculated precisely to the day.
With your personal digital access via the storemore app, you have access to our storage facilities around the clock. Office hours vary depending on the location.

The following items may not be stored: Jewelry, furs, artworks, collectibles, or other irreplaceable objects, as well as items with sentimental or special value; cash, securities, stocks, or shares; food or perishable goods unless securely packaged to prevent pest infestation or nuisance; living beings of any kind; flammable or combustible substances/liquids such as gas, paint, gasoline, oil, solvents, etc.; compressed gases (regardless of storage method); prohibited or illegally possessed weapons, explosives, or ammunition (unless stored in accordance with legal requirements); fireworks; chemicals; radioactive materials; biological agents; environmentally hazardous substances; toxic waste; asbestos; or any other potentially dangerous materials.
Also prohibited are: Waste or refuse of any kind, including animal or toxic/dangerous waste; any toxic, flammable, or hazardous substances or preparations classified as such under any legal or local regulation or marked with GHS (Globally Harmonized System) hazard pictograms; anything that emits smoke or odors; fertilizers; any illegal substances or unlawfully acquired goods; materials that could emit harmful substances affecting others; and any type of batteries or items containing them, especially vehicles such as e-bikes or e-scooters.
You should store furniture clean and dry. Cover upholstered furniture with a breathable sheet or blanket. Leave a little space between the furniture and the wall to allow air circulation. Disassemble furniture where possible to save space — and pack and label screws separately.
After signing the contract, you’ll receive all important information by email: your booking confirmation, app login details, and a move-in guide. In most cases, you can access your unit immediately or at your booked start date. If you have any questions or need assistance, our team is always here to help.

Yes, that’s possible. If you find that your booked storage unit is too large or too small, we’ll be happy to help you switch — depending on availability at your location. Just talk to us or send us a short message, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Very short notice – often even on the same day! If a storage unit is available online, you can book it immediately and get started right away. For last-minute move-ins, our customer service team is also happy to assist you by phone.
Absolutely! You can schedule a viewing appointment at any time – either online or by phone. This way, you can get a first-hand impression of the units and the location.
Yes! We regularly offer promotions for new customers, such as the first month free or reduced rental prices for the first few weeks. You can find the current offers directly on our website or simply ask us for more details.
In most cases, you can start right after booking – or on the date you selected during the booking process. You’ll receive your access details immediately after signing the contract. If you have any questions about setup or your first access, we’ll be happy to assist you.
Business customers can conveniently pay by SEPA direct debit or, upon request, by invoice. For special requirements (e.g., multiple units or long-term rentals), please contact us directly – we’ll find the right solution for you.
Yes, of course. Your data are treated with strict confidentiality in accordance with the GDPR. We only store what is absolutely necessary and never share your information with third parties. All access and data transmissions are encrypted and securely protected.
It’s simple: as soon as you’re on site, the app detects your location (via Bluetooth) and shows your unit. With a tap you unlock the electronic lock—no key or PIN required. You can also grant access to other people, e.g. family members or colleagues.
No worries: if there’s ever a problem with the app (e.g., your phone battery is dead or there’s a technical issue), our customer service can provide you with emergency access – by phone or through our help center. We’ll assist you right away so you can quickly access your belongings again.

Yes, we call this our unit switch service. Whether you want to upgrade or downsize, we’ll check availability and coordinate the move for you. In many cases, the switch can even be completed within a few hours.
